Retired after 44 years of police service most of which was quite satisfying. pleased to be out of a blue suit these days as based on my campion experience, the direct path to success(rival quarterback) often left a trail of bodies. does not compute well today campion was a great experience for me. The good people , classmates,coaches ,teachers, true jesuits and experiences were solid. particularly Coach Friderichs and Father Kalb-fellow Dubuquer! I visited with Fr Kalb several times at Creighton. A notable sadness was evident when he spoke of Campion, he held the "Jesuit line" and was loyal to the army of ignatius,but the hurt at the unfortunate closure spoke louder than anything spoken. we should be pleased that our class succeeded in a difficult task,met the challenge and grew during our time there. I am envious of my Wahlert friends who had far greater social interactions with some great girls. As an adopted wahlert alumnus,I attended the 40 year wahlert reunion with grade school friends. They still smart at loosing to us 3 years running!and that great stallion that led us onto the field-thanks Barney! mostly I needed to make amends with a number of wahlert girls in post campion days! Today I chop wood. 40 years this year. Very remedial and healthy Be well see you in october |
